Anna Tartari 4/4 violin, Cremona Italy 2003

Anna Tartari 4/4 violin, Cremona Italy 2003

Anna Tartari Cremona 2003

Colorful, bright, clear

Anna Tartari trained at the Cremona International Violin Making School under the guidance of masters V. Bissolotti and G. Scolari, where she received her diploma in 1985. Over the years her instruments have been recognized internationally, winning several medals in International Violinmaking Competitions. In her workshop in Cremona, Anna makes violins and violas inspired by classic Cremonese and Italian school of violin making.

This violin is a clear mark of Tartari’s influences and knowledge of the craft. The back is two pieces of quarter-cut maple with beautiful medium-narrow flame that slants slightly down from the center joint. The ribs and scroll match the back and is coated with a lovely orange brown varnish while the top is more antiqued and has been darkened to accentuate the prominent narrow grain of the spruce. The violin is heavily antiqued and shaded, revealing a pale golden ground. The scroll has some black outlining, and Tartari’s craftsmanship shines through the elegant carving of the F-holes.
The violin has a sound that is full of overtones. The tone is colorful, vibrant, and clear.
The original interior label reads: Anna Tartari fece in Cremona 2003.
The violin is in excellent condition.
